Hi,

They are probably using the Tesseract OCR engine, which is free, but quite
honestly, rubbish.  You certainly get what you pay for.

All the best

Steve

Subject: [access-uk] Voice OCR, a totally free alternative to KNFB?

Hello Everyone.
I heard about this app yesterday. Apparently it's been mentioned over on
tech talk. It is a totally free OCR app which claims to provide similar
functionality to KNFB. I haven't tested it extensively, but so far can't
seem to get it to produce useful results. Can people try it and report back?
Search for voice OCR on the app store and it should be the first result. The
iTunes link if anyone needs it is:

Cheers,
Mo.
