Dave, I think GNER are being taken over by National Express aren't they? I've only frequented their cups of tea, or rather, hot water in a cardboard cup. Eating on these trains from their dining-cars is extortionate, so it's just me and my sarnies.

I think Wimpy offer a Braille menu though, least the one that used to be in our town centre did. I thought that was fab.

Has anyone looked into whether or not G N E R does brail or any other
format of menu? I use these once a year for my annual trip to
Moorfields. The restaurant car is very nice and always good food.
While on the subject, what about fast food outlets? Lucky if you can get
a menu in large print. My local Chinese, has a back lit board, which is
yellow with white letters, not a cat in hell's chance of reading it. I
hate them anyway, they always swear at me....F ing else!

Hi Derek

I find this interesting as to be honest, I didn't know Virgin Trains had
menus, when I have eaten on one of their trains, I've only gone for a
BLT or some other sandwich, crisps or a couple of tinnies.

Hi All
Anyone any views on the following I have received from Virgin Trains.
It is their response to my suggestion that there is a need for Braille
menu. I have also suggested a sort of compromise, that the menu
details could be send to me via email.

"I have been passed a copy of your email of 25 January which you sent to
our vtmediaroom address.

As part of my role I have responsibility for reviewing arrangements for
people with disabilities, and am aware that you have had previous
correspondence with our Customer Relations team in respect of our menus.

As I believe you are aware we change our menus very frequently, and for
this reason felt that the most effective way of getting them to you
would be electronically, as I understand that you have the ability to
transcribe them.

If you would like them, I can email the pdfs of the menus for the days
you are due to travel with us.

Please let me know if this is sufficient for your purposes. We are very
keen to get information to you in the most effective way possible.

With best wishes

Chris Hagyard
Franchise Manager
West Coast"

Ok now how easy would it be for them to copy pste the pdf file to
the email.

If a company is aware we use email, and if they offer to send
information in a pdf file, have they acted ina reasonable way given
that many of us may have problems with pdf files.

I shall be asking Virgin to please send in body of email, or a word
document file.

Regards, Derek
