I think one has to expect people to show a little bit of initiative and willingness to find thing out. If a PDF file is properly presented, and there is quite a bit of importance to this I must admit, then the file is readable quite easily once you know how and that is the point. Braille is difficult if you do not know how to read it. Even a tape recorder is hard to use if you are unfamiliar with the concept. You could ask for the file in text format but this is difficult to read if you do not know how to use a computer and of course I could go on.

Lists like these exist to help peoeple find out how to use these kinds of technology. When someone offers a solution that could work I think one should aim to welcome it and possibly offer suggestions for improvements rather than concentrate on being critical. Derek if you don't know how to read PDF files, why not investigate and try asking here or on the BCAB list?
