Plus you have Virgin one on sky as well as 12 movie channels in standard definition alone. Sky is a better experience full stop and its much more widely available Besides which, I can't get Virgin media anyway haha.

James,

Now I've got used to not having the channels spoken I love VM.

I know this is probably way over the top for what you might be after but...

For 56 quid a month we get unlimited phone, 20MB internet, and 150 channels.

VM's audio description is really quite good. Saw Scooby Doo on audio described the other day! The old old ones, before Scrappy Doo!

Allot of stuff on Dave, Watch, Paramount Comedy 1 and 2, UK Gold etc are audio described.

Subject: [access-uk] Virgin Media and Freeview

Hi all,
I recently purchaced a Freeview box from the RNIB which supports audio description. The Freeview offitial website however says I haven't got Freeview coverage in my area. I did know this before I bought the product, however as I've had a number of settop boxes work absolutely fine in this house before, I didn't anticipate any problems. I now have the box, and no matter how many times I retune the thing, it will only pick up BBC 1, 2, 3 and 4, plus a few other channels, and I mean a few very literally, like Dave, and on a good day E4. Would it be worth it to get someone to come and look at the ariel, and perhaps install a new one, or seen as we have Virgin Media in this house should I just go for their second box option, which would cost me £9.50 a month? What do people think would be the best option. I'm guessing the VM second box, as I would get all the channels we currently have downstairs, plus audio description, radio channels, etc, which is a lot more than I would be get ting from Freeview, even if my ariel worked. And I've had pretty good AD services from VM in the past, don't know if their audio description is still any good as haven't tried it in a while.
