Good morning Ibrahim!
Yes, I'm sure you can help further by describing step by step instructions of
what you do when you save the pictures in ITunes right from when you first
receive the message in IMessage on your phone, I must have messed up somewhere
and now the bad operation has become the default.
Perhaps it would be better to take this offlist as this is maybe too
specialised for this general list.
I leave this assessment up to you!
Thanks again for your help.
Cheers now,
Marie

  Hi Marie.

I wish I could shed further light on the situation, but I had a little go
with photos earlier today sending them between my and my brother’s IPhone and
in both instances, we were able to transfer the files to our respective
computers using ITunes. I’m really sorry that I cant help you further, perhaps
you could find something on a forum or you could alternately ring Apple
support, see if they have any answers for you.

All the best and good luck, Ibrahim.

  Hi Ibrahim,
When I got the pictures I had the option to save them, this I did and they
appear as I thought they would in the photos folder in a subfolder called
albums, on my Pod under the title saved photos.
I created a new folder in the my picture folder on my laptop thinking it
would be a dodle to transfer them there.
In ITunes I specified the said folder when asked, but when I open the folder,
the pictures are listed in the folder I specified in a subfolder called IPod
cache in a file called photo database.
The Microsoft photo gallery programme list them with 4 different numbers as
it should as there are 4 photos, but Windows doesn't know what programme to use
to open them. It says the photo gallery programme might need updating. I
checked Microsoft updates and I have them all, they have been all successfully
installed and I haven't seen any recently for picture gallery.

There is something else wrong I expect because they do not show in ITunes on
my device when I plug it on my computer to view its contents through ITunes.
The lists of apps, songs and podcasts etc. appear there as they should. I
checked to make sure photos are checked to symch.
I've checked with a sighted person and I Know the pictures are on my IPod.
I'm baffled. Hope you can enlighten me.
Thanks for taking the time to help.

  All the best,
  Marie

    Hi Marie.

Sorry, but your question doesn’t make sense to me, perhaps it’s worded
in a confusing way? IMessage is a messaging platform for IPod, IPad and IPhone
users. In order to save pictures that are sent to you, you need to save them
to your photo gallery on your device, an option you are given when pressing on
the action button next to the multimedia message in question. Once the file
has been saved to the gallery, it should then become accessible to ITunes and
then your computer accordingly. I don't receive that many multimedia messages
but I’ll have my brother send me a message to see how this is done and send
you step by step instructions. Either way, I believe the messages are saved in
the universally accessible and popular JPG format so should not present a
challenge for opening in Windows.

    All the best, Ibrahim.

I want to view the pictures sent to me on my IPod via IMessage on my
laptop, so far, I haven't found a programme to open them, MS Picture Manager
and Picture gallery say they don't support the format.
    Any idea anyone?
I've asked on the specialist list but didn't get any answer, my question
probably too basic to be taken seriously there.
    Any help very much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers now,
    Marie
