[access-uk] Victor stream, is this player bi-lingual?

Hi all,
A friend of mine has lent me some books in French in txt format. My bookcourier 
makes a real hash of reading them, Could the stream cope better with this?
If not, is there any player out there that could do the job acceptably? I know 
I can use a laptop for the purpose but I dare not take mine to the beach, so 
any suggestion is welcomed, thanks to all in advance.
