Hi David

I use skype as my phone line, I can ring anywhere in Europe,
it only costs me £17 a quarter, the only additional costs
are if I have a call diverted to my mobile, it is only 5
pence for a uk number and 30 cents for a french number, I
think it is good value, I have a skype number. The french
phone packages are much more expensive.

Regards

Adrien

Subject: [access-uk] VOIP / internet phones

Hi group.
Can I ask please what people are using for their
voice-over-IP?
I need to sort out a simple cheap way of calling other
countries.
The last time I investigated this, some time ago, Skype was
the main stream option.
Now I understand many instant messengers provide VoIP.
Which ones are accessible please?

For hardware I'm happy enough using a microphone and
headphones though if anyone has a good Usb or even 3.5mm
headphone/mic plug in phone handset or headset that does not
tie me to a 'internet phone' service provider with annual
subscriptions, that would be really good to know about.

Very many thanks for any help,
David
