If you use the ctrl key instead, you can get there quicker since you move further with one step.

I am delighted with this discovery
Would say that shift and right arrow moves a minute at a time as I had to repeat it 30 times to get to 30 minutes of an hour long play but I was delighted to be able to do this as it only took about half a minute to get to my place. Great for when I fall asleep and miss so much.

Hi Kulvinder

I didn't know this, so thanks. However, although control and arrow key
works fine for me, the shift control and arrow key does nothing.

Cheers

Barry

You can move through the play with the following keystrokes in VLC

left ctrl plus left and right cursors for large movements Left shift plus
left and right cursors to make smaller movements.

Hope this is of help.

I have been using this to play MP3 files, e.g. a 1 hour play. Now my
question, the play is divided in to 2 parts and clearly defined, Part 1
ends, there is a slight intermission by way of advert and then Part 2
starts. I want to be able to jump from Part One to Part 2, it does not
have to be an accurate move but I want in other words to move 15 or 25 or
35 minutes on. Is there any way I can do this please?

Eleanor
