Hello Luke,
Thank you so much for your reply.
Yes, you are right, before I wrote, I simply got the clicks and nothing more.
I’ve just tried scanning the barcode again, and at first I got no result at all.
But I then lay the jar down. This jar is not actually round, but has flattish
sides.
I tried moving the phone around, and I then got the result I had been
expecting. It told me it was processing, and it was a 200G jar of Nescafé
original coffee, and I even had a “more info” button.
So I at least now know it can work. It’s brilliant.
Thanks again for writing.
With best wishes,
Keith

Subject: [access-uk] Re: Using the Product Channel in Seeing A I
Hi Keith
Am i correct in assuming that the app just keeps beeping instead of sending the
barcode to Microsoft? If so, this means it can’t detect the full barcode. Some
things you could try are; move your camera closer or further away from the jar,
or because it’s a jar it may struggle to recognise the barcode as the object is
round.
Just experiment with different positions and lighting and you’ll find what
works best. Also, I’ve noticed that you have to keep the phone very still to
get the best accuracy.
Hope that helps
Luke

Hello all,
I’ve listened to the excellent David Woodbridge podcast on Seeing A I.
I’m attempting to use the Product channel.
In his demo he hears the word “processing” when the camera locates a barcode.
I’ve been pointing my iPhone X camera at a jar of Nescafé coffee, and I’m
hearing the clicks, indicating that a barcode is there, but I get no further,
so I don’t know from Seeing A I that this is in fact a jar of coffee.
What am I doing wrong, please? Can anyone please help?
Many thanks.
With best wishes,
Keith
