Hello,

I suppose it would depend on the level of control that you want with the
CCTV. For example, I have a friend who is good with DIY, and who has used an
old camcorder as a CCTV. He is able to use the remote control for the
camcorder to control the magnification, focus etc. I am assuming you would
want to use the web cam in conjunction with a computer, rather than having
the output fed onwards to a separate television.

Whereas I'm not all that good with electronics myself, I do have a friend
mentioned above who is. If you wish, and with his permission, I can supply
you with his contact details so that the two of you could discuss the matter
off list. Note that this may be easier by phone, as my friend is still
relatively new to computers himself. Do let me know if this is something you
wish to do.
