Hi Adrian,

Thanks for your commentscomments, I rang the software company yesterday in
the end and they've sent me a 30 day evaluation copy so I'll see how I get
on with it.

Thanks again,

Phil

Hi Phil - haven't tried using a screenreader together with read and write
gold but as that package contains quite good text to speech features in its
own right you may find that with adequate support in getting to know the
product you can demonstrate its main features without the need for a
screenreader. Some of the really nice touches for example include the
ability to virtually scan, OCR, and read back an image of text such as a
piece of Flash content or a pdf file with a single button press.

I suspect you're right about Inspiration, I haven't yet found a mind mapping
package that works with a screenreader or even one which outputs and imports
structured documents to mind maps.

Subject: [access-uk] Using Jaws with Texthelp read & write

Hi guys,

Quite a specialist one this time but worth a try..

I may be about to undertake some work as a freelance DSA assessor and as
part of this will be required to assess students with dyslexia and other
print disabilities other to visual impairment. as part of the assessments I
will need to demo the Texthelp Read & Write software and Inspirations
mindmapping software. My question is does anyone have any experience (good
or bad!) of attempting to use these software's with Jaws v8? I know
Inspirations is very visually based so I'm guessing this won't work that
well if at all but not sure about Texthelp...

I look forward to hearing from you,

Cheers,

Phil
