Hi
This is my Apple TV setup. I have an HDMI cable running from my television to
the Apple TV. The network configured on Apple TV is a wireless one. So much
easier and more convenient to set up.

Sorry I don't do it that way I do it wirelessly which means I put one cable
to the Apple TV and the other to the HDMI port slot on the TV that way. Not
through iTunes. I don't see the point of running it through the PC. But on
the PC when running it through the Wireless way, there should be an Apple TV
icon on iTunes. In settings there should be AirPlay which should be activated
anyway.

<>Hi Mark

I have an HDMI cable which looks the same at both ends. If I connect each to
the laptop and Apple TV, what do I change or activate within Settings on
Apple TV, and where do I go on the laptop once this is done? Sorry for the
questions and my ignorance, but I have never done this before, though
understand it is possible.

Thanks for any help.

Kind Regards,

Jackie Brown

You need either Apple TV or a HDMI cable to lightening cable but Apple TV
need to be set up wirelessly which is done via settings and you don't need to
run it through iTunes on the PC

Apart from the HDMI cable to connect the two together, does anyone know what
else I need to do in order to play Apple TV through a laptop running Windows
7, please? For example, do I need to be running iTunes?

Any help much appreciated, thanks.
