Cheers Steve, is there any reason why I can't install Talks that you can think of? It's the Talks not supported message I can't understand. What seems to happen is that the message comes up and there's a low beep from the phone and the cursor lands up in the list of messages in my inbox. The date and time are set right on the phone. -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Steve Nutt Sent: 22 July 2008 21:45 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Updating phone firmware and getting Talks back Hi Sunil, With 3rd Edition phones, this is not possible. This is because Talks has to install itself into the equivalent of the phone's registry. So you will have to reinstall Talks. All the best Steve -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Sunil Sent: Tuesday 22 July 2008 20:44 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Updating phone firmware and getting Talks back Hi, I'm tearing my hair out so hope someone can out. I want to transfer the Talks files from my PC to the memory card for my phone so that when I put the card into the phone and turn it on Talks will start speaking. Is this possible and if so, where do I need to put the files on the card? I backed my phone up, updated the firmware and restored the files again. But trying to reinstall Talks has been a harrowing experience. First tried doing it via PC Suite. But when it got to the part of the installation where you complete it on the phone I think the message said something like Talks can not be supported and the process just stopped. Tried bluetoothing the files to the phone and when I hit enter on the sis file I got a similar message and the process stopped. Can't remember the exact message. Now I don't know how to get Talks back and just feel helpless without a talking phone. I set the correct date and time after the firmware was updated with sighted help. Thanks in advance for any help...cheers ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
