Hi Kevin.

I wouldn’t worry too much about the certificate validation issue, this sounds
to me like an issue with your email provider rather than with the setup of your
computer. Which email provider are you using and which mode of connection to
their service, IE POP, IMAP etc.?

All the best, Ibrahim.

Ibrahimb,

Many thanks for this.

I did as you suggest and it appears that all the programmes did install,
however I am still getting a message, on logging into Windows Live Mail about
there being a problem with the certificate associated with that programme and
asking whether I wish to continue. I click continue and mail opens but I am
wondering whether the programmes have updated correctly. Any suggestions
please?
please feel free to contact me off-list as I don’t want to go off topic.

Many thanks,

Hi Kevin.

If you go to http;//get.live.com, you should be able to download it directly
from that site and install over your existing copy. Make sure that all Live
Essentials like Messenger and Mail are closed before updating and that Internet
Explorer is also closed, though the program will probably prompt you to close
those programs it needs to update anyway. Good luck.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Subject: [access-uk] Updating Windows Live Mail

Hello,

I’ve been seeing for a number of months now a message inviting me to update
Windows Live Essentials of which Mail is a part, however I am not sure how
accessible the update process is because I have not been able to find any way
of entering on the update. I keep Windows up-to-date by installing updates,
however the one for Windows Live Essentials is not being installed as part of
the Windows updating process. Grateful for any advice on how to update Windows
Live Mail please.

Many thanks,

Kevin
