As many people know Internet Radio is always changing and updating.
Folk Alley have updated their stream and is no longer working in Speak On.
The new Folk Alley Stream does continue to work however under VLC on a PC and
probably more importantly for Evo 10 users on this device . So far the Evo 10
seems a hardware equivalent to VLC, whatever Radio Stream plays in VLC will
also play in the Evo 10 Daisy Player. The Evo 10 is actually an excellent
Internet Radio which is why I am trying to expand the easy availability of
stations for it.
For Speak On users I have added 2 new similar Folk Station
1. Laut FM Folk and more.m3u which is a german station oddly seemingly
devoted to playing English Folk Songs.
2. Celtic which appears to be a Glasgow station .
I have also added various other stations such as PigPen which is a uK reggae
station.
For Speak On Users I have also added a new got Radio folder which contains 17
of the multi genre popular Got Radio Streams which cover many many different
musical tastes including Celtic and Folk so Speak On users are definately
ahead despite losing Folk Alley.
However it has also become clear that both VLC and the Evo 10 support not just
folk Alley but many more of the Streams than Speak On is currently able to
pllay.
For example so far there are 27 streams that work in the equivalent Got Radio
folder for Evo 10 and VLC users as opposed to the 17 in the Speak On version
so there is an even bigger choice.
However Speak On retains value because of it nice integration with other apps
and ease and flexibility of use, including ability to easily download programs
when available and with tunein also built in you will never realistically be
short for choice of Stations on Speak On.
I hope to add further got Radio as well as other streams for both VLC/Evo 10
users and Speak On in the weeks ahead.
To avoid frustration whilst using Speak On I have removed non working
streams as I come across them and if they are still working in VLC and Evo 10
have kept them there.
There are therefore now two versions of the Web Radio directory of Streams.
The first is mainly for Speak On, and although I have not tested it I suspect
these streams are more likely to work in the oder Plextalk and other daisy
Players. you can download from

The second is an even larger collection of m3u files which will work with VLC
on a PC or Mac and for portable use on the Evo 10 Player. Just copy the
Internet Radio directory after unzipping to the root drives of your Evo 10 and
they should work fine.
