Hi George,

Does that mean then that I best not listen to orchestrals on radio 3 and Classic FM then! <grins>

Tricky to say, Tony. One factor is what your are listening too. Lets
take two extremes. Someone playing a flute, and an entire symphony
orchestra playing the 1812 Overture. With the latter you would need
masses of extra bandwidth due to the amount of sound coming down the
line from dozens of instruments, whereas the flute would need very
little.

I hope that makes sense.

George.

Hi George again!

Possibly a final query on this is, how come I can hear some stations
online
without buffering and others I can't because of that beast the buffer!

Could it possibly be a distance problem too?

Hi Tony,

While researching Robin's question, I came across the following
broadband speed test site which may help you in Eire.

Hi All,

I listen to a bit of radio online and would like to know is there
any
action
I can take to stop buffering of stations so that I can have
uninterrupted
linstening to my favoured radio stations?

I have been listening to Gold radio lately and find it happens a lot
with
that pparticular station which is a pity as it is a great station!

Many thanks

Tony
