Hi Carol. You could bback up a hard drive by creating a disk image of it yes. Providing the image is somewhere other than the hard drive being backed up or perhaps another partition on the same drive then you will be able to restore it by extracting the disk image. The program is very screen reader friendly. Hope this helps.
