I must echo Jackie here, while my stream is the older model without wifi, I
find it is really good for the price, super portable, and if you shove a
powered external speaker on it, you can really extend that already great
battery life.

Hi Barry

It depends what you want. If you are going to use DAISY at any point, or
want to stream online, then the Victor Reader Stream is your passport. But
if you simply want to shove an USB stick into the device and listen to MP3
recordings, then one of the less expensive chaps would fit the bill. I
personally find the Stream good value for what it offers, I use mine daily,
and it has good battery life.

Kind Regards,

Jackie Brown

Yeah, I was looking at them a few minutes ago. Too big and too expensive.

Cheers

There may be others, but I don't know much more than that. There are other
talking book players which play off usb, a lot of the desktop ones do, but
they are many £££ as they are cd, sd things.

Thanks, Martin. They both seem excellent for the price.

The sovereign is one, it's simple and cheap. There may be others. The
victor reader stream will also play from mem stick, but is more expensive,
and of course, does far more.

Hi all

Is there a talking book player that will play direct from USB memory stick?

Cheers
