Hi Roger,

If you have XP Home the second CPU will be sitting their idle because it
won't be used by the OS. Are you sure you don't just have
Hyperthreading using Intel processors? I have a Dell Dymention
workstation at work with 2 Zeon processors which runs slower than my
single AMD64 machine at home - both purchased at nearly the same time -
one of the crucial things is that I have 2gb of ram in this AMD where as
only 1GB in the Dell.

Having two processors is very expensive, and only gives real benefits
for applications/operating systems that actually use the processors in
the correct way. For example, most desktop apps are not designed like
this.

Thanks.
Andrew.

I'm the one Trace is talking about and it's exactly as she says. But I
run
XP Home with no problems.

Roger

You're just jealous because the voices only talk to me.
