why do you want to turn off the screen anyways?
can't you just dim the brightness as on mac?

Cool that makes sense considering that JFW gets its info from video Intercept drivers and hooks. Any idea of if there is a work around?

Take care

Interesting. Most likely turning off the screen disables the video card for some reason.

Subject: [access-uk] Turning of laptop screens

Hi folks,

Here's the problem:

I know that on a Desktop PC if you turn off the monitor, JAWS still works as if nothing has happened. However, on my laptop it doesn't. This is how I know the screen is turned off because JAWS does not tell me which messages are read and tells me that the system tray is blank for example.

Does anyone know why this is, and if turning off the laptop is achievible with JFW without it screwing up?

Thanks

Take care all
