[access-uk] Transferring data onto a new machine.

Hi.
I'm replacing my Sony Vaio laptop with another Sony Vaio machine with higher
spec. I'm wondering how to transfer everything across from my old machine
on to my new one. I've got everything backed up onto an external harddrive,
but I'm wondering if there's another way of connecting the two machines
together with a wi fi cable as my Parents did when they copied data between
two Mac computers.
I'm using Windows XP service pack 3 and the latest version of Jaws 9.
I'd be grateful for any suggestions on this.
