Hi Listers,

iPhone for me. I've had a brief look at the S2 and S3. There really needs to
be an intuitive manual for these phones, similar to that produced by Dresner
et al. for the iPhone. It would make life so much easier for those who do
not wish to choose the iPhone or simply cannot afford it.

Regards,

Mike

Subject: [access-uk] Touch Screen Phones

Hi all,
A couple of weeks ago I asked for mobile phone recommendations on this list.
I didn't want an IPhone so I decided to go for an android device. O2 didn't
have a Nexus, which was the one Steve recommended, so I chose a Galaxy S2.
It arrived two days ago and what can I say? I am finding it so difficult.
I watched You Tube videos of blind people using the S2 and they made it look
so easy. I've turned on Talk Back and Touch to Explore but I just can't get
going. My sim needs a pin code and trying to find the numbers to enter on
the screen is a nightmare. I can't find where to answer or hang up a call.
I know there's an Android app called eyes free shell. Does anyone know
anything about this and would it perhaps make life a bit easier. I'm trying
so hard not to send it back as I know it can be used. Does anyone have any
tips or tricks for getting around the screen on these touch screen devices
because I'll have to send it back if it doesn't get any easier. Please,
someone! Help before I go insane!

Cheers,
Sandra.
