Hi Billy.

Get your daughter to download a free trial of tune-up utilities, that includes a startup and service analysis function which will help in determining where the problem is. In my experience, I've always found that its usually one or two programs which are the culprits as I've many applications on my machine which load at start-up but hardly any degradation of performance. You can get tune-up utilities from www.tune-up.com and a special offer at the moment will give you three user licenses for just £29.99.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Its always a good idea to have as few programs running at start up as possible in my opinion. ----- Original Message ----- From: "TrueBlue & Proud" <hotscot72@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Subject: [access-uk] Toshiba and startup?

hi guys, My daughter has been having some startup issues with her new Toshiba laptop system. The laptop is taking too long to startup. She thinks it may be the amount of startup programs loading at boot up.

Can anyone using a Toshiba laptop please advise, would it be better if she removed some of the Toshiba stuff loading at startup?, there are so many programs in there,
