Hi John and Mandy, John, totally agree with all of what you said.Mandy, top posting is what we do on this list. Bottom posting (I think that's what it's called ) is when you place your reply at the bottom of the older replies. Internet forums use bottom posting, and yes I find bottom posting more difficult to read. For a sighted person it is very easy to skim through all the text to get to the reply they are after. When using a screen reader it's a different story; needless to explain.

David I agree this was the way I learned to do emails also. In my ignorance I've not heard of top posting before either.Mandy.----- Original Message ----- From: "David W Wood" <g3yxx@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, May 26, 2007 7:18 AM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Top Posting to this listHi John: 'tell me the old old story'.This subject has been raised on this list previously, and the consensus hasbeen to put the reply at the top for the very reasons which you cite. I concur! I recognise that this does follow normal conventions on groups. In my view, it is not the best way for people using speech output on a PC tofollow a debate.Visually, there is the hint of bold or greater than symbols. Equally thesecan be read in Braille and establish where a new comment starts.I don't think most people using speech would get all punctuation read out. This means that the new comments are simply interspersed into the earlier note. This is not easy to follow. It is much easier to follow with top posting; if the person thinks it is necessary to add context from an earlier note , then addict, with lines saying "quote start" and "quote en". What do other list members thin?
