By the way, does anyone use the tactile rubber overlay with their iOS device? i hear it makes the experience of interacting with the touch screen a lot less painful.

Certainly if I put it on charge and as it comes on it definitely vibrates.----- Original Message ----- From: "MJ Williams" <matthewjwilliams101@xxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, September 09, 2014 12:09 AM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Top 3 iPhone accessibility ProblemsThat's very interesting. I think it is here that there was mention of the lack of vibration on the iPhone in turning it on. I find that if I have the phone on a firm surface and turn it on it vibrates.----- Original Message ----- From: "Steve Nutt" <steve@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, September 08, 2014 8:21 AM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Top 3 iPhone accessibility ProblemsHi Carol, Try it when you have sighted help. I bet you're not holding the button in quite long enough first go.This is one area of the iPhone that is shamefully inaccessible. It wouldn't have hurt them to make it vibrate when it's time to release the button, likethey do with Android phones. I flip the mute on and off. If the phone doesn't vibrate, it's turned off. Nokia handsets gave me a definite vibration when they turned on, as does my S4 Mini with Telorion. But I never know whether I have held the power button in long enough for the iPhone, and therefore don't know if it is booting or not. Is there a definitive way of knowing this without seeing the screen light up? Other than that, I have no complaints about accessibility of built-in apps and restoration etc. Kind regards, Jackie Brown Emails: jackieannbrown62@xxxxxxxxx thebrownsplace@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Twitter: @thebrownsplace Skype: Thejackmate -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Barry Hill Sent: 05 September 2014 13.20 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Top 3 iPhone accessibility Problems There are some apps that I've installed that have unlabelled buttons, and one or two that are just impossible to use with VO, but accessibility of the iPhone itself seems to be just fine. I've done resets and fresh installs with no problems. The thing I do think could be better is accessibility of iTunes. It's a lot better than it was, but it's still not easy.
