No need to, I do this every night and wifi is off at my end. Christopher Hallsworth Student at the Hadley School for the Blind www.hadley.edu On 08/09/2014 08:24, Steve Nutt wrote:
Hi Chris, Actually not true. You can turn on airplane mode and wifi will still stay on. Try it. This turns off all radios so shouldn't interfeere with aircrafts hence the feature Airplane Mode. When they tell you to turn off your electrical equipment on an aircraft for take-off and landing, I think to myself: "Oh here we go", because I know it will be so hit or miss when I boot my iPhone again, especially as I need it when landing. This is definitely the one big wish on my list of Apple enhancements. It is ok if you have enough sight or light perception to see the screen brightness. I flip the mute on and off. If the phone doesn't vibrate, it's turned off. Nokia handsets gave me a definite vibration when they turned on, as does my S4 Mini with Telorion. But I never know whether I have held the power button in long enough for the iPhone, and therefore don't know ifitis booting or not. Is there a definitive way of knowing this without seeing the screen light up? Other than that, I have no complaints about accessibility of built-in apps and restoration etc. Kind regards, Jackie Brown Emails: jackieannbrown62@xxxxxxxxx thebrownsplace@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Twitter: @thebrownsplace Skype: Thejackmate -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Barry Hill Sent: 05 September 2014 13.20 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Top 3 iPhone accessibility Problems There are some apps that I've installed that have unlabelled buttons, and one or two that are just impossible to use with VO, but accessibility of the iPhone itself seems to be just fine. I've done resets and fresh installs with no problems. The thing I do think could be better is accessibility of iTunes. It's a lot better than it was, but it's still not easy.
