No need to, I do this every night and wifi is off at my end.

Hi Chris,

Actually not true. You can turn on airplane mode and wifi will still stay
on. Try it.

I would think turning on Airplane Mode would be enough. This turns off
all radios so shouldn't interfeere with aircrafts hence the feature
Airplane Mode.

Hi Carol

I must admit I have the same problem. When they tell you to turn off your
electrical equipment on an aircraft for take-off and landing, I think to
myself: "Oh here we go", because I know it will be so hit or miss when I
boot my iPhone again, especially as I need it when landing. This is
definitely the one big wish on my list of Apple enhancements. It is ok if
you have enough sight or light perception to see the screen brightness.

Can only add, Jackie, that my iPhone, mysteriously perhaps, has never
booted
for me on first boot, even if i count really carefully, add or subtract a
sec or two whilst holding in the button. I always have to boot the second
time!

Hi,

No, you've missed nothing. Android vibrates, but not Apple.

This proves there is nothing definitive that I have missed, (smile).
Apple,
let's have a vibratory or audible sound, please? Glad it isn't just me!

Not perfect, but very simple. I flip the mute on and off. If the phone
doesn't vibrate, it's turned off.

Perhaps this is just me, but I find it difficult to know whether my
iPhone
is off or on when I have needed to reboot it, say having been on an
aircraft. Nokia handsets gave me a definite vibration when they turned
on,
as does my S4 Mini with Telorion. But I never know whether I have held
the
power button in long enough for the iPhone, and therefore don't know if
it
is booting or not. Is there a definitive way of knowing this without
seeing
the screen light up? Other than that, I have no complaints about
accessibility of built-in apps and restoration etc.

Kind regards,

There are some apps that I've installed that have unlabelled buttons, and
one or two that are just impossible to use with VO, but accessibility of
the
iPhone itself seems to be just fine. I've done resets and fresh installs
with no problems.

The thing I do think could be better is accessibility of iTunes. It's a
lot
better than it was, but it's still not easy.

Cheers

Barry

Hello list,

This is for regular and experienced iPhone users:

What would be your top 3 accessibility issues with the iPhone? For
example,
are there instances where sighted assistance is simply unavoidable for
performing an operating system related task? Can one reset the phone to
default factory settings without sighted help?

Sincerely,
Matthew
