Here's a newly relaunched site apparently partly aimed at blind and VI users: http://www.tnf.org.uk They claim to be CSS compliant but have 25 CSS errors, they claim to be valid xhtml but it has 12 errors, and they claim to be WAI accessible but Sortsite reports that for accessibility they are 81% WORSE than the average page on the internet, with 15 issues making it difficult for blind users, 9 of them serious. As someone who works very hard to ensure the sites I build ARE accessible, I find this random splurging of unwarranted badges to be annoying from a developers point of view, but also negating the whole point of having any sort of accessibility targets. Does anyone have any thoughts on this page? Does it work well with your screenreader? What do you feel about buttons which claim accessibility when the site is not to that standard? ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
