Hi Tony, Firstly, new iPods come with speech capability out of the box. Secondly, Rockbox is a great extention that runs on a lot of MP3 players to provide speech along with other features. 3rdly, the Sony range of NWZ players are accessible enough without speech. In Touch on a programme last month thought that the sound from the i-Tel was a bit dubious but I don't need it to be crystal clearr as long as it does it's job! The iAudio is an iPod, slightly dated at this stage, but was costly so I don't want going out buying say for example one with in-built speech when the i-Tel might do the job nicely! Try googling 'iAudio or check out Brian Hartgen's website: www.hartgen.org Tony ----- Original Message ----- From: "Erica" <rebellion220@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, December 11, 2008 12:31 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: The i-Tel > I heard it at sight village and it was fine to me, It was dectalk. > What's the iAudio? > Erica. > -------------------------------------------------- > From: "Chris Hallsworth" <christopherhallsworth71@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Sent: Thursday, December 11, 2008 9:58 AM > To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Subject: [access-uk] Re: The i-Tel > > The speech on the I-Tel, in my opinion, sounds very robotic and not clear. > > This is only from a review I've heard though. > > > > -- > > Chris Hallsworth > > E-mail: CH9675@xxxxxxxxxxx > > MSN: CH9675@xxxxxxxxxxx > > Skype: chrishallsworth7266 > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: "Tony Sweeney" <tonysweeney1@xxxxxxxxxx> > > To: "accessc-uk" <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > > Sent: Thursday, December 11, 2008 12:55 AM > > Subject: [access-uk] The i-Tel > > > > > >> Hi All, > >> > >> Could anyone please let me have your thoughts on wat you think of The > >> i-tel? > >> > >> I have an iAudio player. > >> > >> Is the sound created by the i-tel of reasonable listening quality or is > >> it > >> just listenable? > >> > >> Any responses gratefully appreciated. > >> > >> Tony > >> > >> ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- > >> ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] > >> ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: > >> ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > >> ** and in the Subject line type > >> ** unsubscribe > >> ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the > >> ** immediately-following link:- > >> ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] > >> ** or send a message, to > >> ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq > >> > > > > ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- > > ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] > > ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: > > ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > > ** and in the Subject line type > > ** unsubscribe > > ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the > > ** immediately-following link:- > > ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] > > ** or send a message, to > > ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq > > > > > ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- > ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] > ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: > ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > ** and in the Subject line type > ** unsubscribe > ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the > ** immediately-following link:- > ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] > ** or send a message, to > ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq __________ NOD32 3683 (20081211) Information __________ This message was checked by NOD32 antivirus system. http://www.eset.com -- -- Check out my radio and TeamTalk server! http://www.jls-radio.com -- James Scholes E-mail: james@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx MSN/Windows Live Messenger: jamesscholes@xxxxxxx AIM: JamesScholes000 Skype: james.scholes Website: http://www.jamesscholes.com Blog: http://www.jamesscholes.com/blog Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/jamesscholes Find me on Facebook!
