Well good luck to you and everyone else who has taken the plunge thus far Ibrahim. It's just not for me at this time, not for the sake of having a new toy when I have other devices that work well and do the job as efficiently. That's a fare enough comment to make. I'm a little apprehensive aboutgetting my new IPhone if I'm being totally honest, I'm wondering if I'll be able to get used to the touch interface and gestures this, but its a new wayof interacting with a device and I'm sure a very pleasant one given by allthe podcasts and reviews I've looked at. As for downloading aps wirelessly, you can do this with the IPhone as well as the IPod, in fact the storage isthe only thing that differs the two products at the higher end of thespectrum. In fact, the IPod Touch has an inferior camera and no GPS, so ifall your wanting to do is music and books etc, its a fine solution but I want so much more from my device which is why I'm gunning for the IPhone. All the best, Ibrahim. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jackie Cairns" <jackie.cairnsplace@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, October 11, 2010 11:50 AM Subject: [access-uk] Re: The Colorino colour detectorHi Ibrahim I don't have an iPhone, nor am I likely to be purchasing one in the near future. To be honest, and call me a coward if you like, but my existing handsets with Talks and K-Reader software work just fine for me and provide me with everything I need to do regarding texting, calling, contact entries, and even the music player. I am interested in the Apple phenomenon, however, and would rather choose an iPod Touch if I were to go for anything because it would give me much more storage for music, and the ability to download apps using a WiFi connection. The idea of messing about in therain trying to gesture on my phone to call a taxi, just to use an example, doesn't do it for me somehow, not when I have enough phones in the house to do that job. I am, however, always interested in colour identifiers, so thanks forpointing this one out and, if I do ever get an iPod Touch, I'll bear it inmind for sure. A really interesting article waswritten about this program by a blind man who describes how his IPhone haschanged his world, so I wonder if you've given it a go if indeed you have an IPhone. Removing and reinserting the batteries can bring this about, but like I said, it doesn't work for long, and just now, I can't get it to work at all! Is the Colorino still considered one of the best of it's kind, or has it nowbeen superseded? I need something better than the Cobalt one that thoughteverything was olive Green!
