You can SMS from Skype, but I've no idea about costs, if any.

Subject: [access-uk] Texting with Skype

Hi all,

I have a deafl-blind friend who is wanting to text on Skype. (We
realise he won't know if someone calls him and he'd have to do the
calling, but what about the texting?) I'd be interested to hear from
anyone who actually using the texting facilities on Skype and
particularly if you are able to try it with a Braille display to see
how easy it might be for him. I'd go and spend some time helping him
if you think it could work.

Thanks for any comments on this.
