Hi Adrian=20

Yes, I agree. =20

To give a little background, this system was originally developed in =
Denmark
with free text to speech software available to everybody on the net. As =
part
of the project consortium, Text to speech engines have been bought in =
from
Lacuendo in Italy to serve multiple languages. =20

National copyright laws apply; hence we need to put a rider in the =
return
E-mail of each result stating the responsibilities of the user and also =
the
copyright regulations covered. =20

Hope this clarifies the position a little more, but please feel free to =
get
back to me if there are any more questions. =20

Cheers=20

Ian - interesting legal implications of such a service because of the
licence for the voice you use. The usual speech synth licence which
allows you to use it for real time work on your own system does not
cover giving away copies of the use of that voice. If you want to share
materials recorded with a given tts voice then you need to own a licence
for that voice which gives permition to do so.

I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has explored this route,
bought the licence or tried to do so as not all tts resellers seem to
approach it in the same way, make the system transparent.

Hi=3D20
=3D20

I've already mentioned this on another list, but I'm looking for people
who would be willing to trial this out for me. =3D20

=3D20

Would anybody like to trial out a text to speech and potentially a text
to Braille E-mail conversion programme? Essentially, you would attach a
document to an E-mail and receive the results back in minutes as an MP3
file.
Some people have shown interest in piloting this already, but I am on
the look out for many more. =3D20

=3D20

If you are interested, please feel free to E-mail me at the address
below and I'll send you further information on the system, how to
register and then how to use and test it.=3D20

=3D20

Many thanks=3D20
