Hi,

If you sign up to the preference service you don't get any ad-hoc calls virtually.

Derek is this not a nuisance in terms of hospital appointments? I know for myself whenever the hospital phones me or my GP it is always a withheld number so if I blocked all withheld numbers I would miss out on important things.

Hi Jackie
Is the device limited to one having to knew the number Of the caller you
want to block?

I use BT's caller reject service.
Any caller that withholds number, is automatically blocked.
I find this seems to bock almost all sales calls.

Regards, Derek

I've found TrueCall, and I have a feeling this was the device discussed last
year, unless anyone says otherwise.

Many thanks.

There was some discussion on this list last year about a machine one could purchase that attaches to the phone line, whereby you can block calls and record phone conversations etc. Does anyone remember this thread and what
the item is called so I can check it out? I've changed computers since
then
and lost the information.

Many thanks for any help.

Kind Regards,

Jackie Cairns
