You can buy these off EBay, I think also Argos still stock them. So long as
the machine has full voice prompts, I might just buy one in favor of Call
Minder and save myself a few quid while I'm at it.

Have you looked at the BT Response 75 answering machine? My version has
full voice prompts and is easily set up. I know I've had it for a couple
of years but I think they are still made or perhaps you could Google it
and you could find one for sale.
