Thanks for this info. Hate using a sweeping brush and am hopeless with one. This sounds great. Will stop me having to start up vacuum cleaner.

With thanks,

Hi All
Eleanor just saw one on the Argos site that says it will clean pet hair.
The Gtech Lightweight sweeper is a flexible, robust sweeper offering
total freedom around the home with no cables to limit movement. Ideal
for cleaning hard floors and removing stubborn pet hairs from
upholstery.
It costs 75 Euro here but should be a lot cheaper in the UK.
Jackie thanks for that idea as we were looking for a carpet sweeper
that is easy to use and handy for quick use and this type of cleaner
seems to be just the thing.
Many thanks
Tony

Hi Jackie, I agree, would not do for the dog hairs I am sure but for a quick run around every day is fine. Only 1 year guarantee actually. I must look
in to that though.

Hi Eleanor

I think as long as you remember it isn't a fully-fledged vacuum for
heavier
household jobs. I love it because it is so lightweight and easy to push
over the hard floors downstairs, and just tidying up. The tray is very
easy
to pull out and empty.

Good to know John Lewis do it or something similar as you should get a
two-year guarantee with it.

Kind Regards,

Jackie Cairns

I found one in John Lewis Jackie, around Ł49.99 and bought it anyway as
the
thing that gets me is crumbs *smile*, especially when I visit my siter's
which is a very large apartment and when I am the only jone there. A
brush
is just hopeless. I am glad you say that about it being better than the
carpet sweeper, that sells it for me *smile*.

Hi Eleanor

Shaped like one, but much better. Ideal for jobs like cereal spillages
and
biscuit crumbs! Very lightweight for someone with my difficulties to use.

Is this not like the old manual carpet sweepers, with the addition of a
rechargable battery -----Original message-----

Some interesting and useful contributions to this thread.

My own is our cordless sweeper which we purchased from www.lakeland.co.uk

This little baby is lightweight and really useful for all floor types. It
has a rechargeable battery that purports to last approximately an hour.
That might not seem a long time, but it is long enough for you to be able
to
sweep the house. It picks up well, and has an easily emptied tray that
pulls out.

I think it costs Ł59.99, and is among the off-the-shelf bits and pieces
we
find really helpful.

Kind Regards,

Jackie Cairns
