Hi Alison
Your message made me smile :-) I have a good friend who is in her early 70s,
I’ve known her for about five years and in that time I have taught her not only
how to use an iPhone but to buy and I watch, use Apple Pay and go completely
cashless. If there is hope for her then there is hope for you and age is no
barrier to achievement with this technology LOL :-) it is all a matter of
attitude.

Using the volume button didn't work for me, but I will try again. Thank you
so much to Barrie as I have just taken my first photo and then managed to
attach it to a text message. There is hope for me after all! Thank you to
everyone for their help. Alison

Remember that a good alternative to using the on screen shutter button which
is touch only is to use the up volume control to take the shot.

Hi Alison
If you have IOS 13 installed, when you open the camera app, it usually lands on
the ‘Take picture’ button. Swipe left to ‘Camera mode’. Yours will say “Video
mode”. When you land on that, swipe down and it will change to ‘Photo’. Swipe
right again to take picture and you’re ready.
Cheers
Barry

Subject: [access-uk] Taking a photo with an iPhone
My friend gave me a rose bush which is absolutely full of blooms and I wanted
to send her a photo of it, but when I go to the Camera app on my iphone, I only
seem to be able to make videos. How does one take a photo on an iPhone?
