Is the TVOnics a recorder as well as an accessible freeview tuner? If so,
does it record the AD track as well with the programme? -

Hello Ibrahim, Pulse-eight seem to have offices dotted all over the
place! it's very early days of course but, at the moment, they seem
to be promoting the dtrz500. I shall try and find out if they
intend to improve the rather flakey programmkme software, let's hope!
    John

        Hi Fran.
No, none of the bush range of TVâs have voice over, if you want
a talking Freeview system then the best bet would be the TVonics
now pulse-eight units with the integrated speech output. You
can still get TVonics boxes off EBay and install the text to
speech option, if you want to go down this route then Iâd be
happy to help you source and guide you through the installation
        of said speech.
        All the best, Ibrahim.

        Hi Andy.

Unfortunately because I live alone and don't have anyone else to
account to, I couldnât give a toss about the picture quality on
my set. All I know about the screen is the resolution and that
its an HD ready TV, my support worker who has to help me sort
some technical glitches sometimes tells me that the viewing
quality is perfectly acceptable, however probably due to the
size she wouldnât want to watch a blockbuster on it. I should
also mention that my set does have a DVD player built in, so
doubtless somewhere theyâve made compromises, no picture up
scaling for one thing when dvdâs are being played.

        All the best, Ibrahim.

Thanks Ibrahim - I've got to find good sound, for me, and good
picture for my partner. I like to read up on what Which have to
say, but think sometimes especially when it comes to TVs, they
get a bit obsessed with picture perfection, but then again, what
        do I know <smile> -

            Hi Andy.

Youâre probably going to think me silly for recommending
this, however i picked up a Bush 24 inch LED TV from Argos
for around Â170 which I use as I don't need a big screen TV
for my living room, however the sound quality from the built
in speakers is rather quite good. Iâm no audiophile by any
means, however you might want to consider the bush range as
if my set is anything to go by, the sound should be
perfectly acceptable. Of course if you want anything more
substantial then you should invest in a 2.1 piece speaker
system at least or a home theatre set. Incidentally my set
does have an audio description feature, it even has an AD on
            off button on the remote.

            All the best, Ibrahim.

            Hi all -

I'm in the market for a new TV, and have been doing some
research. I thought I had heard it said that Sony and
Panasonic now come with Freeview and AD built-in as
standard? This doesn't appear to be the case in the lower
price bracket [around the 5-700 quid tag]

I have seen some Panasonics and Samsungs in that price range
with AD, but not Sony. I'm looking at Sony as I think they
have the better sound quality, but that might not be the
case, and certainly looking on the Which website, Sony sound
scores 3 out of 5 at best for sound, and often [on cheaper
models] only 2 out of 5.

So, I'd appreciate some feedback on good sounding TVs [I
know slim sets these days means poorer sound generally, but
would still like to know what people think of as a
reasonable sound across the range, along with built-in
            Freeview and Ad.

            Thanks -

            Andy
