Hi,

It is also the case that the DTR-Z500HD only has scart and not HDMI, so if
you use HDMI then the Z500HD isn't of any use. It also has some terrible
reviews from a couple of years ago (2009) when it was released, having all
manner of problems including switching off and resetting every 2 mins,
recording the same programme over and over again instead of in a series.
Perhaps the later firmware updates resolved this, that I don't know. Anyway,
there are numerous reviews on Amazon.co.uk.

John.

Hi Eleanor.

Yep, would be happy to. Looking at the specs of both recorders there is
practically no difference, it's just the design and of course the price.

All the best, Ibrahim.
