Hmmmmm, not so good. So if browsing the EPG to find a program to watch one then has to press the info button to see if it has AD, if not another press to go back and then probably go back to the beginning of the list to find another program I may want to watch, again press the info button and so on and so on. Personally I'd prefer to watch a second or third choice of programs that carry AD than one that doesn't.

Perhaps with any future firmware upgrades the AD could be announced in the EPG list, or better still a double beep to indicate so similar to the Goodmans box. Even better would be a filter to show only programs with AD as in the Portset box. I believe even the NetGem box indicated if a program had AD when switching channels but I could'nt swear on this. I also miss the button press beeps that was also available on the Goodmans. Food for thought for the developers. Don't get me wrong, I think having an accessible recorder is absoloutley brilliant and we've waited a long long time for it to come, but if we don't feed back what we'd like or not like on this first release would be an opportunity wasted. I don't know whether this is the correct forum for giving feedback, if not and there's an RNIB member of staff on the list then maybe they could inform us as to where to send such feedback.

You don't need to set anything, just press programme info. If there's AD on a programme it'll say so.

David, it'll tell you if a programme is audio described. If it doesn't say it means it isn't.
Where, incidentally, is the save button you mention? I don't know of one.

Hi all

Got someone to help me with the installation today and all went remarkably smoothly.

I have already made a recording and have set it up to record two programmes at the same time later tonight. I do have one question. There appears to be a "save" button but I have not found what it does. When you are changing a setting for example, the box automatically saves the setting you have highlighted, so there appears to be no point in having a save button.

One thing which no one has so far commented upon is the high definition facility. Granted, it is of no use to many of us, but the sighted person who visited me this afternoon to set up the box was very impressed with the quality of the hd channels.

All in all I am most impressed with the t-vonics box. It will be great for just finding out what is on with regard to the lesser known channels, and even better to be able to record anything on freeview.

Even fully sighted people are impressed with the clarity of the voice, and someone asked me whether it was an actresss who had prerecorded the speech.

It is so good to have braille instructions as well.

Just one minor point, When listening to the programme information, I have not heard it tell me whether the programme is audio described or not. Can someone confirm that it does this, and if so tell me how to find out.

David
