Thanks, Dave. I think it's the all-in-one factor that interests Mike, together with its (supposed) ease of use. Of course I shall have a play and I've said I'll nick the external speaker (if I can! <Smiles>)

Carol,

There are a few differences. Firstly the part which picks up the
satellite signals is contained within the trekker unit itself whereas
before it was connected separately. Secondly the unit is a good deal
smaller. Finally, it is about half the price, £385 I believe.

Simplicity of operation is also a main difference. I have used
Trekker and do not find it particularly intuitive. Having said that,
others get on well with it and love it. I believe there are only
four or five keys on the new Breeze which is far fewer than
trekker/maestro.

Hi Jackie,

So what's the difference between the PRO and the BREEZE version, do
you know?

I'm so sorry we won't be able to make Sight Village again this year
... but perhaps some time.

Hi Carol

Ian uses the Trekker Pro, but he also has Wayfinder Access on his
phone. This is a general hobby for him, and he thinks the whole thing
would be better if he could pick things from Trekker and Wayfinder
Access, and have them rolled into one decent product. He says
Trekker Pro has got some real bugs in it, but he uses both quite a
lot just to find out where he is and putting his own landmarks in.

I'll be at Sight Village this year, so I'm hoping to perhaps have a
look at Trekker Breeze at some point, just to report back to Ian as
he is interested in it.

Incidentally, if any of you are going to Sight, please come and say
hello to me as it would be nice to put voices to the many of you I
have written to on and off list over the months.

Jackie

Hi all,

My husband's thinking of getting the Trekker Breeze which I
understand is somewhat of a cut-down version of the GPS software
used with the BrailleNote family of products. If anyone uses this,
I'd be interested in your observations, likes and dislikes and to
know how you use it (I mean, for what purposes you find it works for
you). --
