Yea, and that's one of the things I definitely want to improve, so maybe this isn't going to be a good deal for me.

However, I have nothing to lose to ask them to upgrade me, have I!

Hi George, yes they do but the antenna is built in and crap. but the rooter seems to be solid but as I say signal around the house is bad because of the crappy antenna.

And what's more, Virgin now supply a one piece unit, so no need for a separate router.

Why not get VM to replace it within your contract with them.
They are then responsible for its maintenance.

Having had issues with them over the last few weeks, and getting to know one of the engineers rather too well owing to his frequent visits, it appears that they are now taking on the support for their own infrastructure, whereas for some while it was sub contracted.
Hopefully, therefore, service might improve!

Hi all,

We suspect our Linksys may be dying, with rather too frequent cutouts of WiFi, and it's time to invest in something new.

I'd be interested to know which make of routers people are finding most satisfactory these days. Please bear in mind that we use Virgin Media's modem and then connect to our router, so anything suggested must work with Virgin Media, and I'm not sure that all products do.

We have been Linksys fans for ages but see some are talking in favour of Graytek these days. Why is this?

If you can help us at all with suitable comments and/or model numbers to go for, please do so.

BTW: A router must just "happen" for us, unless someone technical is going to walk us through the setting up, as we're not really "technical know-how's", nor do we really want to be! <Smiles>
