Hi Peter,
You can also turn the dictionary on and off by pressing the hash key twice
whilst in a text message that you are editing. This also turns the
dictionary back on again which is possibly how it got switched on in the
first place.

If you go in to the menue, go to tools, settings and phone then you'll
find
the option to turn off the dictionary there.
