Hi Roger

I use a little program called hdd-temperature 1.1, it is free, I am not sure where it came from but I have just zipped it up and I can e-mail it to you if you like. I just click on the file hdd temp and it tells me what my pc temperature is.

If you can send me a blank message off list I'll send you the zipped file.

Regards

Adrien

Subject: [access-uk] System Overload

Hi All

I need to know where I can find out the temperature of my CPU. I think I'm running a little hot for some reason. I have been given some files in AVI format which I need to expand to then be able to burn as DVD's but the system is crashing on me part way through. This happened a while ago and it was found the fans needed cleaning. I have cleaned the fans thoroughly and one file was fine but not the next one. Going to Task Manager it tells me I'm using 100% of my CPU capacity with taskmngr. exe using a major part of it. This is a similar symptom to my previous problem.

How difficult a problem is it to replace the fans? I'm wondering if the time running with them dirty has put an undue strain on them and it would be better to replace them.

Roger

Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.
