Hi Jackie
That's interesting. I get the notes to sync, but I don't get anything in my
mailbox.

Hi Iain and Mandy
Yes, my notes sync to my BI14 and vice versa to iPhone, depending on which
device I created the note in the first place, but a copy always goes to my
Outlook Inbox folder as well.
Kind regards,

Hi Mandy
I think I meant the joystick when dot 8 doesn'with work.
Your notes don't go into your inbox when you sync. They go into a folder you
will see when yopen the Notes app. In my case, the folder has the name of my
gmail address.
When you are creating a note, dot 8 does actually create a new line. However,
the old line is still showing. In your settings, you can have an indication
that a new line character has been inserted.
I hope all this makes some kind of sense.

Hi Jackie and Iain.
So Iain, what do you mean pressing on the cursor key corrects being unable to
use dot 8 for a new line? Are there any braille settings in voice-over that
affect not being able to use the dot 8 key?
I was told it is an I O S thing but when I first received the Brailliant it
did work because I kept sending text messages by mistake before I was ready.
Jackie: are you saying that when you sync notes they do go into your inbox
because I was told this does not happen and so I am still confused.

I have found that sometimes the dot 8 doesn't work as expected. Usually
pffessing down on the joystick fixes this.

Try updating your iPhone to the latest software, there has been yet another
release this week. If I write notes on either the BI14 or on my iPhone, then
synchronise them, I always receive an Email containing the notes I have written
which lands in my Outlook Inbox as normal.

Hi Jackie.
Thanks for this.
I have just talked with Louis Crack and he says the dot 8 thing is a VoicedOver
issue although strangely it did work when I first got it. I find dot 8 doesn’t
work on my Focus either athough at times it does.
I was misunderstanding the notes sync thing, I thought that the notes went into
the inbox of the email account I didn’t realise it just meant that they are on
the Brailliant in the email account section.

Hi Mandy
I’m baffled as to why you are experiencing these problems to be honest, my BI14
just wakes up seamlessly when turned on and in the vicinity of my phone, I’ve
never seen another display that does this so well.
I’ll send you the review off list, but I don’t think it’s going to help much
from what you are saying.
Kind regards,
Jackie Brown

Hi Jackie.
I would be grateful for the review off list, I did call HumanWare again
yesterday and asked for a step-by-step instruction but must have deleted it by
mistake and I had already phoned the day before – bit embarrassed to keep cling
even though I know that is what they are for.
Also now, for some reason, my dot 8 does not create a new line.
I did look at some settings but the manual does not seem to say what the
defaults are: i s there something in the settings that would affect this? I
am sure it says something about new line and I have this on, perhaps it is
supposed to be off.
Also, sometimes I seem to have to go back into settings to reconnect the
Brailliant i s this usual?
Mandy.

Hi Jackie.
So I followed your instruction and notes was not on, I turned it om but still
cannot sync.
Can you give me step-by-step instructions what to do with a note for it to sync
with email?
What I am trying is sliding the switch to the left on the Brailliant, first
thing I see is the current time so I move the joystick one to the right and see
notes.
So I select notes with the joystick and it says local. I understand that these
notes don’t synchroniseSo I move the joystick one right to my email address and
select
And I have a couple of words written in.
What do I do next so that these will syncd with my email account and do they
also appear in notes on the iPhone?< /p>
Sorry if I am being a bit thick, I just can’t get this.
Als o I keep sending text messages halfway through: I gue ss I must keep
hitting enter even though I don’t realise it.
Mandy.

Hi Mandy
Try the following:
&n bsp;
1. Go into your iPhone's Settings, and find Passwords and Accounts.
2. Now go to the name of the acco unt you want to sync Brailliant with, in
my case this is Gmail.
3. In here, check that Notes is on. If it isn't, ensure you double-tap to
turn it on.
4. Now try synchronising your device with your iPhone.
Job done, (hopefully).
Kind regards,
Jackie Brown

Hi All.
I have just spoken with someone from Humanware but it hasn't helped.
I downloaded the Brailliant Sync app and selected my account, I have even
received emails saying that my account is shared with Brailliant sync but my
account says idle and writing a note and trying to sync doesn't seem to
work.
I think I need a step-by-step instruction as I am not sure what I am doing
wrong.
