Hi David
Yes, horses for courses, but it’s certainly one of the best keypads I’ve ever
worked with, and not just for the tactile keys, but also its response when
pressing. Those who remember the Nokia N91 will know it had a superb keypad,
that was my favourite I think.
Kind regards,
Jackie Brown

It is interesting how personal this is.
I am still using my iPhone as main and Blind Shell Classic as backup but in
terms of keyboards the Blind Shell is easily the easiest tactile one I have
personally encountered.
I mention this in case people think there is necessarily a problem with the
Blind Shell keyboard. They should at least try out the Blind Shell for
themselves I think if they want a tactile option.

I got my hands on one last night and I was very disappointed with the buttons.
while they were large I found it difficult to feel the outer edge of each
button. after some time it became easier to the touch, certainly not as clearly
defined as the ones on the Nokia.

Hi Mo
I am very pleased to see the phone becoming more popular, it’s what a lot of
people want when they are unable to, or struggle with, using a Smartphone. I
use my iPhone a lot for various apps, but having Blind Shell is great. I know
this might be a little contentious, but I think the name Blind Shell puts
people off. It comes across as being outdated or so garden-walled that only
the very technology basic could use it. Not a bit of it though, it’s as useful
as anything I have. Not sure what I would call it, but Blind Shell wouldn’t be
it! (smile.)

Hi Jackie.
I totally agree. Although we have not officially announced it yet, we are now
supplying the Blind Shell in the UK as well and are in contact with the
developers. If anyone would like any assistance, please don't hesitate to get
in touch with us directly and we'll do our best to help you out.

Hi Mo
Many thanks indeed, job done on both, now we have Google voice!! I think
dealers should do this as a matter of course before distributing the handsets,
but I don’t think Cobolt has a clue quite frankly.

Hi.
Go to settings, and press star 3 times and hash 4 times. This should take you
to the phone's advanced menu. Try changing your language from US to UK and see
if that helps.
Cheers,
Mo.

Hi, I have reported this to Honza.
It makes no sense. There should be some way, to reset my black phone, to UK
english.
I’m guessing, there will be some kind of code, as i can’t see them writing
different software for each country.
They should put this information, on their website, and in the userguide. Or
even better, put it as an option on the phone. But maybe, that would make too
much sense.
I really like this phone, compared, to other phones of this kind. But why,
can’t they get the most simple things right.
Dave.

Hi Jackie,
It sounds like some of these phones are set to US English instead of UK
English, and there appears to be no means of changing the language.
I would report this to Honza if I were you, he is the developer.
All the best
Steve

Hi Dave
My husband and I both have Black handsets, and the voices comprise seven
American voices, four female and three male, both running the same software
update as yourself. I’m intrigued, so wonder if it’s the red version that has
the extra voices?
Kind regards,

Hi members.
I have 2 Blindshell classic handsets.
I was playing about with both of them this morning.
I am running the same software version on both of them, which is 466, which is
the latest.
However, I noticed, that 1 of the phones, has 18 voices, with a British female
voice.
The other phone, has only 7 voices, and is using an american female voice.
I purchased both phones from Cobolt, a couple of weeks apart.
The only difference is, i purchased 1 of each colour.
I have looked all through the settings, and i can’t find anything to rectify
this strange issue.
Can anyone advise?
Many thanks,
Dave.
