Is there any clue in the Event Viewer for when the problem occurs?

was going to try and remove it from startup and see what happens. But as it's intermittent, I'm not sure whether to proceed.

I've been using NOD32 for years and have never experienced this problem.
Have you tried removing and reinstalling? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris Hallsworth" <chrishallsworth@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, September 03, 2006 5:03 PM Subject: [access-uk] Startup problem
Hi all, Does anyone using Nod32 experience startup issues whereby the whole PC locks, and you have to press and hold the power button to force a shutdown? The reason why I think it's to do with Nod32 is because it's never happened before until I installed Nod32. I'm using Windows XP SP2 with no updates, and the latest virus signature of Nod32. In case it's an issue here, I'm using the trial version of Nod32. This issue doesn't happen all the time. Thanks, and I look forward to hear from you.
