Hi Andy.

No problem. I'm currently using version 1.3.4 so it looks like you might have
an older version there. I can send you this as an attachment if you let me
have your e-mail address off list. It's a very small download and so won't be
a problem to send as an attachment.

Regards.

  Hi Kevin

Just installed version 1_2_5 of mp3gain [had it on this laptop already] and
got a message that this programme may not have installed correctly with a
button to click for reinstalling using recommended settings. I cancelled out of
that, hoping it actually has installed ok.

I'm not quite ready with the folder I wish to burn, so not ready to use the
programme just yet, but if I get stuck, can I come back for some help?

  Thanks -

  Andy

    Hi Andy.

I would suggest MP3GAIN as your best option. It's free and easy to use and
can be used to set all files to the same average volume. This is different to
normalisation which sets all files so that their maximum peak volume are all
at the same volume. Normalisation can therefore still leave files at different
volumes as perceived by the ear. Even the best tools like MP3GAIN can make
mistakes occasionally though so I'd set the volumes and then have a listen
before you burn and change any individual files to your ear.

      Hi all -

I'm putting together a folder of mp3 files that will get burned to disk.
As some are louder than others, I'd like to standardise/normalise the volume
level for all files. Is there a free tool that will do this for me?

      Thanks -

      Andy
