Thanks Iain,

Very complicated isn't it just to do functions sighted people take for
granted, smiles.

I thought the Spotify blind scripts may help a bit, but to be honest they
are not that good, most things they could do I could already do.

Thanks for your help.

Playing albums is not intuitive. You need to left click on the album title
which appears just after the track time length. You then need to run the
OCR. You then use the JAWS cursor to left click on the track you want to
start and then press ENTER. Unless you save the album as a new playlist (a
function only visible after running the OCr), you cannot arrow up and down
the album track list.

I have written to Spotify on numerous occasions to ask them to make their
program more accessible, but with no success. Indeed, the program has in
some respects become even more inaccessible since I started using it. The
accessibility of playing albums is a case in point.

Iain, you have answered a question about Spotify and using it with Spotify
blind. I got these scripts, but was disappointed as I couldn't find how to
play albums, and also do lots of other things with it.

Thanks, next time I'll try using the OCR,

Sharon

There are Spotify scripts for JAWS from www.spotifyblind.com/. However, they
are not free and my experience is they are not altogether a success. You see
how much you are missing when you use Spotify on an iDevice. With these
scripts, you can do searches, create playlists and, if you are willing to
use the JAWS cursor and the OCR component of JAWS, you can listen to albums.

In short, with JAWS it can be done, but it isn't nearly as straightforward
as it should be. Spotify has been very poor in making the PC version of its
offering accessible.

Does anyone use Spotify successfully with screen reader? I was just
wondering, not being a Spotify user, I have been thinking lately that it may
be more economical for me to subscribe to Spotify on a monthly basis and get
all the music that I want rather than purchasing downloads from iTunes. It
would probably work out cheaper for me this way!
Kind regards
Richard
