Dear Claire,
This is the way I would do it, but there may be a far more sophisticated way.
I would open the file, and, whilst holding the Shift key down, cursor down the
document till about 20 or 30 lines were highlighted.
I would then copy this highlighted text to the Clipboard with Control+c.
Thirdly, I would open a new Word document, and paste in the info on the
Clipboard.
I would save this second file.
This way I have the text in both files. I would copy the text rather than cut
it, just in case something went wrong.
Finally, I would go into the first file and make sure the cursor is at the end
of the text already copied, and then repeat the procedure.
You can of course choose how much text to copy each time.
As I have said, Others may have a much easier or more sophisticated way of
doing things.
Good luck and best wishes,
Keith

Subject: [access-uk] Splitting a large word document into smaller files
Hi all, I have posted this on another list so apologies if some of you get this
twice: I have a very large word document which I need to read, and I am trying
to find a way of splitting that file into smaller separate files. I know this
can be done with Ballabolka, but I don’t want to convert the file into audio, I
just want to split the file into smaller files I can still read, not mP3 files.
I would greatly appreciate any help which anyone can give, thank you in
advance.
