I've just come across this page on Veli-Pekka Tätilä site. He's a Finish guy,
but his written English is excelent. I also know he's a Spernova user and of
course he reviews orphious, but he looks at, or listens to, quite a few others
using MP3 samples of a passage from the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy.

He's quite methodical in the way he makes the comparisons, but you may not
agree with his conclusions; after all there is always a subjective element in
one's liking, or otherwise, of synthetic speech. Its only when you've lived
with it for some time that you come to appreciate its strengths and weeknesses.

So take a look at:

I must say that I rather fancy Audrey, and she holds up well at fast rates!
So, I wonder, is it possible to use A T & T voices with some sort of SAPI
interface or whatever? Certainly, for reading long pasages of stuff I think I
cvould get along with a voice like that.
