It could be what is loosely termed a "dry joint". You could also try removing, cleaning where possible, and re-seating any plugable items. It could even simply be that your soundcard needs to be removed, the edge connector cleaned using a typists erasor, and reseated, making sure the grounding screw is tightened properly.
